Professor Alonso Moreno began his Jiu-Jitsu journey in 2009 under the guidance of 6-time Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu World Champion Marcio “Pe de Pano” Cruz. As Marcio’s very first student, Alonso had the rare opportunity to learn directly from one of the sport’s greatest champions, earning every belt from blue to black under his mentorship.
Early in his journey, Alonso stood out for his dedication on the mats and his natural ability to lead and teach. As a blue belt, he became one of the first and most trusted individuals to assist in coaching and guiding students at Marcio’s academy. His leadership and presence played a key role in building the foundation of what would become one of the most respected BJJ academies in the region.
After 13 years of relentless training, growth, and service to the Jiu-Jitsu community, Alonso earned his black belt in 2022—a milestone that reflects his technical mastery, unwavering discipline, and commitment to the art.
Today, Professor Alonso brings that same passion and experience to every class he teaches. He is devoted to helping students grow on and off the mats, instilling the values of hard work, humility, and perseverance. Whether you're just starting your journey or chasing high-level competition, you’ll find in Alonso a coach who leads with heart, integrity, and a deep love for the game.
Jiu-Jitsu changed his life—and now he’s here to help it change yours. Train hard. Stay humble. Never stop evolving.
